This semester, I have been working in Vaugn's Character and Hero Prop Modeling class on the tree character that is included in my thesis: Zhul'Thun Most tree characters that can be found through a simple search resemble Ents (from Tolkien's fantasy world), but I want to try and make my own fantasy-inspired character that has it's own aesthetic. This was my workflow: Due to time constraints and necessity to begin modeling the character at the beginning of the course, I did a quick silhouette. This was the result, in which I then continued concepting in Zbrush. Though I'm pretty happy with the result of the silhouette, I don't think I will do this method again - I am more powerful as modeler when I have a full concept to work from. I found myself struggling with some shapes/areas of the model.
This is the result I have now. I should be finished modeling by this Friday, where I will then Retopo (attempt Zremesher), then begin UVing and texturing.
