I finally got around to polypainting this sculpt. I needed to quickly paint him for something coming up very soon and didn't want to retopo & UV, so resorted to polypaint. I figured it would be good for experience, either way, since I've never used polypaint before. Here is the result after compositing: It was a great experience, and I've learned that although polypainting has it's conveniences, it also has a lot of inconveniences including the lack of layers, and counter-intuitive painting tools/controls.
